Work Experience Credit

 The Worksite Learning program is a professional opportunity for students to earn high school credit through their current employment. Please note: Enrollment is not automatic. Participation is a formal process requiring specific eligibility, documentation, and a direct connection to a student’s career goals.

1. Eligibility & Career Alignment

To qualify, a student’s current or previous Career and Technical Education (CTE) coursework must align with their workplace duties and their High School & Beyond Plan.

Important: During the application process, students must clearly articulate how their job develops specific career skills. I do work with them during our meeting when they answer is too vague.

2. The Application Process

Students must follow these steps in order to be considered for the program:

• Step 1: Online Application. Complete the formal application.

• Step 2: Email Monitoring. After applying, students are responsible for checking their school email. I will send an invitation to schedule a mandatory intake meeting and to outline the next steps.

• Step 3: Required Paperwork. The Parent/Guardian Consent Form (automatically generated upon application) must be signed and completed prior to our scheduled meeting. This form is attached to the email sent to the student.

3. Earning Credit

Credits are earned based on documented hours, but the "clock" does not start immediately.

• Activation Date: Hours only begin counting toward credit after all enrollment forms are completed and approved. This means work hours begin counting after, and not prior to program acceptance.

• Reporting: Students are responsible for submitting their pay stubs regularly through the PAY STUB LINK to verify their hours. This is emailed to them after our initial meeting and explained.

• Students earn 0.5 credit for 180 hours and 1.0 for 360 hours. All paystubs must be received by June 12th.
