CTE Dual Credit
Career and Technical Education (CTE) Dual-Enrollment courses allow students to earn both high school and college credit by completing college level CTE courses. These courses are articulated and approved as part of local college certificate and degree programs, and are offered at each high school campus as part of a student's regular class schedule. Students pay a small fee to obtain these college credits far below the actual cost for a college student. As a result, students and families get a jump-start on college by earning a college transcript while saving a significant amount of money.
The following CTE Dual-Enrollment course options are available to high school students across the Edmonds School District.
CTE Dual Credit/Tech Prep
CTE Dual Credit/Tech Prep courses are available to all 9th-12th grade students and are offered at all of our high schools. These courses articulate directly with local college Professional and Technical certificate and degree programs and teach college level curriculum. Students obtain college credit by earning a grade of "B" or higher in the course and paying a small application fee.
College in High School
CTE College in High School courses are available to all 10th-12th grade students and are articulated with local college and universities as part of their academic degree requirements. There are a limited number of CTE College in High School courses available in each high school. Students obtain college credit by earning a passing grade for the course and paying a significantly reduced tuition fee.
Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB)
A limited number of CTE AP courses are offered in all of our high schools and are available to students in grades 10-12. CTE IB courses are limited to Edmonds Woodway High School and are only available to students in grades 11 and 12. Both AP and IB courses provide standardized end of course examinations with a corresponding exam fee to students. Scores from these exams are considered by colleges for varying levels of college credit.
